MHAT monthly business minutes by Gary Berger

Attendees: Nathan Smith, Cliff Currie, Bob Snow, Gary Berger, Jack Powers,

1) Correction to last month's minutes: the training is Feb 8 and 15
2) Treasury report (separate file from Arlene)
3) Contract with City ñ approved and will go to the City Thursday Jan 9 via
Jack P.
4) For insurance purposes, everyone must give a copy of their driver's
license and
proof of insurance to Arlene
5) We turned down the 2nd channel for now
6) Shall we collect dues? Tabled for future meeting. NOTE: Voluntary
donations are
tax deductible!
7) Underwriting and Sponsorship ñ Bill owns this
8) Litronix broken, at the shop, shipping it out/back will cost more than
the fix. ETA
for return Monday Jan 13. NOTE: In the future, large shipments can be sent
at a
discount via Bill Leaman
9) Long-term replacement for Litronix being investigated by Jack P.,
involves
migration to DVD playback
10) New programs: Humanist Perspective, Amalgam, Eckankar, Father Jim
11) Jim F to continue as Program Director. ALL changes to schedule or tape
swaps
must go thru him. Tom G still "owns" Sunday afternoons
12) New process to check-out equipment. Locker has padlock. Jim F and Jack
P have
keys. Forms must be filled out before equipment goes out. Equipment will be
inspected before its accepted back
13) Authorized the purchase, NTE $100, for cable sets and manuals for the
cameras
14) Authorized $300 that was to go to purchase of 2x S-VHS VCRs to instead
go to
DVD player(s) and misc to hook it up to playback system
15) Carl explained a new insurance law, mandating 5.1% increase
16) Jack reviewed his most excellent 2003 Business Plan.
17) Jack P will try to put MHAT logo in lower-right corner of everything
that airs
18) Bob Snow will create a new MAT logo from scratch
19) Its okay to loan our tapes to Gilroy Public Access
20) Next training will be Feb 8 & 15. Anyone/everyone welcome to join and
help
21) Gary to follow-up with Jay on live weekly government production
22) Next business meeting FIRST Wed of Feb, the 5th, not the 2nd Wed.
